Thyraid is an advanced thyroid support supplement which helps maintain thyroid health and metabolism. It is a comprehensive nutritional formula designed to support the thyroid in its many hormonal and metabolic roles within the human body.
What does Thyraid target?
A critical gland in the endocrine system, the thyroid regulates and affects metabolism, energy, brain development and digestive functions, as well as overall well-being. Thyraid contains Iodine, Zinc, L-Tyrosine, Ashwagandha and much more, which all help support and maintain thyroid health.
A Thorough Thyroid Talk
The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland, located in front of the trachea and just below the voice
box. Glands produce substances which the body needs for other functions. In this case, the thyroid
produces hormones which play a key role in metabolic processes, as well as heart function, muscle
control, brain development, mood and bone maintenance. That’s a lot for a relatively small gland.
A Grand Gland:
The thyroid is part of the endocrine system. It uses iodine, ideally obtained from foods, to produce two main hormones, triiodothyronine (T3)
and thyroxine (T4). Both of these hormones, as well as the rest of the hormones secreted by the thyroid, must remain at ideal levels for the
body to function well. The hypothalamus and the pituitary gland, two glands in the brain, are responsible for maintaining the balance of T3
and T4. Different health issues may develop when thyroid hormone levels fall too high or too low.
The Highs and Lows:
If a little is good, more must be better, right? Not quite.
So if too much isn’t helpful, less must be healthier, correct? Still not.
As with all bodily functions, production and usage of thyroid hormones is a carefully calibrated system. When T3 and T4 levels fall too low, the
pituitary gland releases TSH, or thyroid stimulating hormones, which sends a message to the thyroid to increase production. Conversely, if T3
and T4 levels are too high, less TSH is produced and the thyroid slows production.
Some people suffer from hyperthyroidism, or thyroid hormone levels that are too high. These people may experience a rapid heart rate,
diarrhea and weight loss, anxiety, moodiness, nervousness, sweating, trembling, hair loss, and slowing of the female hormonal systems.
Other people have hypothyroidism, or low thyroid hormone levels. This is much more common. These people
may notice a slowed heart rate, constipation and weight gain, fatigue, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, dry
hair and skin, depression, joint and muscle pain, and accelerated female hormonal systems.
There is no single test that can accurately diagnose all thyroid issues. However, combining two or more tests
can give accurate results. Some tests focus on hormone levels, others measure the ratio between the two
hormones. Still others will assess the levels of other hormones produce by the thyroid and/or hypothalamus
and pituitary gland. Determining the cause of reduced or accelerated thyroid function is important, as
targeted treatment is significantly more effective. (Note: If your T3 and T4 blood-test results are normal, but
you are still experiencing symptoms, ask your doctor for a full thyroid blood test, measuring TSH, TBH, Free
T3, Free T4, Reverse T3 and other levels.)
T-Treatment:
Hypothyroidism is a common concern. Less common but still prevalent is hyperthyroidism. Goiter and
Hashimoto’s disease are some of the other conditions affecting the thyroid gland. If you are diagnosed with
any of these conditions, your doctor will discuss an appropriate treatment plan.
But there are two things to keep in mind. Firstly, your thyroid levels may be low (or high), but not in the
diagnosable range. Secondly, medication and other intervention may come along with side-effects. Lessening
or eliminating the need for intervention may help you avoid them.
So what’s the plan? First of all, it is important to reiterate that where medical intervention is required, a doctor should be consulted before
terminating or changing a treatment plan, and/or taking supplements. Once necessary clearance is obtained, mother nature offers various
solutions for sluggish and overactive thyroids.
The Advanced Nutrition by Zahler formulation, Thyraide, is unique. It is designed to support thyroid health and can be helpful for high and low
thyroid function. It is a nutritional supplement including important nutrients and herbal ingredients that help align the endocrine systems.
Thyraide contains iodine and L-Tyrosine. Together these are the principle components of thyroid hormones, and without an adequate supply
of both, the health of the gland and production of hormones is negatively impacted. Thyraide also has copper, magnesium and zinc, all
of which are important for thyroid health and are critical for function of several enzymes in the gland. In addition, Thyraide contains three
traditional herbs from Aryuvedic traditions, delivered as advanced, concentrated, standardized extracts. Forskohlii root, Sensoril from the
ashwagandha root, and guggul extract (Myrrh resin) all support thyroid health in unique and important ways, optimizing and supporting
normal function of this all-important gland.
Conventional medicine attempts to replace, stimulate, or restrict function of the thyroid. Thryaide’s formulation provides the building blocks
and support for normal function. The ingredients in Thyraide are those that are naturally found in horm
